Nodus Fall Studio

Three names show up in the paperwork and the press. They all point at the same company family, not a mystery indie.

Last updated 26 August 2026

Ask who the Nodus Fall studio is and you get three names: HoYoverse on the official pages, miHoYo in Gematsu’s headline, Cognosphere on the US trademark filing. They’re the same company family wearing different hats — publisher, legacy studio name, legal entity.

There is no separate “Nodus Fall Studio” LLC in public filings. The game is a HoYoverse IP, not an external partner project.

HoYoverse on the masthead

nodusfall.hoyoverse.com, the Gamescom news post, and IGN’s developer field all say HoYoverse. That’s the brand players know from Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero. Nodusfall is billed as a new original game from that publisher, not a sequel.

Gameplay details live on the main Nodus Fall guide; this page is the credits block.

Why miHoYo still appears

Gematsu attributed the reveal to miHoYo. Opening Night Live recaps often say “Genshin maker” and skip the rebrand. miHoYo is the development company; HoYoverse is the global publishing label. For Nodus Fall, both strings point at the same org chart.

Cognosphere and the trademark

Game8 reported Cognosphere Pte. Ltd. filed NODUSFALL in the United States on 29 April 2026, still pending during Gamescom week. Cognosphere handles a lot of HoYoverse legal paperwork outside China. A trademark confirms someone protected the name — not which office built the build.

Not a Genshin team spin-off label

Official copy says brand-new IP. The tone is darker realistic fantasy, not Teyvat. Press went to Elden Ring and Monster Hunter comparisons, which describes the trailer, not a shared engine with Genshin. See Nodus Fall HoYoverse for the publisher angle and game engine for UE5 reporting.

What the studio hasn’t said

Internal codename, team size, which HoYoverse office owns the project, live-service plans, monetization. The gacha question is still open. Studio identity is clear; business model isn’t.
