Nodus Fall Game Engine
Nobody at HoYoverse put “UE5” on a slide. Two outlets did in their Gamescom write-ups, and the footage backs them up.

HoYoverse never put “Unreal Engine 5” on a Gamescom slide. Gematsu and Noisy Pixel both said Nodus Fall is built on UE5 in their announcement write-ups. That’s the entire official-adjacent record for the Nodus Fall game engine question.
The trailer’s lighting, scale, and creature detail fit UE5 marketing reels. Fit isn’t proof, but it’s why the reporting landed without pushback.
Who said UE5
Gematsu — miHoYo reveal recap, lists Unreal Engine 5 among production details.
Noisy Pixel — same week, same engine line.
HoYoverse — no engine credit on the public site as of the debut.
When the publisher stays quiet and two trade outlets agree, this site logs UE5 as “reported, not slide-confirmed.” The Nodus Fall homepage mentions it in the release section for the same reason.
Why players care
UE5 sets expectations: high-end PC, current-gen consoles if they ship, large patch sizes, Nanite/Lumen-style visuals in the ballpark of what you saw at ONL. It also separates Nodusfall from HoYoverse’s in-house Unity-style mobile stack on some older titles — this is presented as a heavier project.
Tie-in to the studio
Engine choice doesn’t name the internal team. HoYoverse is on the masthead; miHoYo shows up in Gematsu; Cognosphere filed the trademark. TheNodus Fall studio note sorts those names out.
What the engine doesn’t tell you
Not the netcode model for co-op. Not anti-cheat. Not minimum specs. Not whether the PS5 version exists — platforms are still blank. UE5 is a production detail, not a launch checklist.
